FOUNDER Opinions

Miriam Santer

Co-founder and COO at theblood

“Berlin is very open minded and with our product we do get a lot of polarized opinions. Even though menstruation is not a taboo topic anymore, we’re still confronted with stigmas and biases. For a disruptive company like theblood it’s easier to find early adopters and first users in an environment that is open to innovations and especially open to delicate topics.

On the other side, we have both been in Berlin for a very long time and also want this to be the home of our company.”

Mattia Marco Caruson

Co-founder and CEO at mama health

“In Berlin you can breathe creativity, innovation and technology – building a startup is not a niche activity anymore. Many students here graduate with the ambition to start a company (or join a fast-growing one), and you have a whole ecosystem of previous founders who can help you with your daily challenges because they went through the same ones!

The best place to start a company is where you can find others who have already done it, and Berlin hosts one of the best founders’ ecosystems in Europe.”

Susana Gomez

Co-Founder at LÆMON

“Berlin is the place to be for young entrepreneurs if they want to be seen and recognized internationally. Especially when you are just getting started, Berlin offers a huge network of aspiring entrepreneurs and a public support structure that is unmatched, in my opinion.

Adam Rumjahn

Co-Founder at Orion Additive Manufacturing GmbH

“[What] really brought us here to Berlin was just the sheer amount of innovation and technology that’s happening here.

And of course Berlin is also just such a vibrant city with so much history and so much culture and art. It’s hard not to love it here.

Elena Poughia

Founder at Data Natives

“Berlin is a vibrant place, quite raw with a high potential to establish a very unique startup culture. It attracts a lot of tech talent and interesting individuals with artistic background. I would highly recommend establishing a company here!”
