Founder Opinions

Dan Shepherd

Director of Operations at Hubbub Labs

“Barcelona is a fascinating place and somewhere which I fell in love with instantly. It’s one of Europe’s most up-and-coming startup hubs and there are endless networking events and initiatives to support entrepreneurs from all over the world. However, starting a business here doesn’t come without its difficulties. Find out more in this blog post I wrote for OneCoWork – Barcelona’s best coworking space. https://www.onecowork.com/en/blog/read/554694142/guest-blogging-barcelona–6-things-to-know-before-starting-a-business”

Toni Manzano

Co-Founder & R&D Director at Bigfinite

“Bigfinite is a startup born in San Francisco. When we arrived to BCN we found in the BCN Activa’s Landing Department the same feeling, efficiency and service spirit than we are used to manage in Silicon Valley. That’s a great flavour and a good start point for a start up.”

Manel Sort

General Manager at King Barcelona

“We had a great experience working with Barcelona Activa. I especially appreciate their responsiveness helping us setting up operations, from the legal procedures to the search of an office in the city.

Richard Calvo

Former CEO of Yababook accelerated by Wayra Barcelona

“As you already know Barcelona becomes one of the most important cities in Europe for innovation and entrepreneurship. In Barcelona there is a solid startup ecosystem that enables the collaboration among all its building block: startups, VCs, corporates, universities and public organizations. The talent attraction and retention is one of the key drivers as well as the entrance of international VCs we have here.”
